Size 5 imaging plate is unique for CR7, and after being combined with the iM3 4DC Revolution and the newly developed iM3 positioning set (patent) it is possible to scan the full mouth from medium to large dogs in only 6 exposures. This is a huge step forward in veterinary dentistry as current DR and CR systems can last twice as long to get a full mouth, often 12 to 24 exposure is required due to smaller matrix/sensor sizes.

The best practice is to take full-mouth X-rays for all animals having a "dentist". Taking 24 or even 12 X-rays in a busy hospital is impractical or unattainable. The solution is CR7 VET coupled with an image plate size 5 and an iM3 positioning set. Veterinary doctors and technicians are now able to take full X-rays in the mouth of each animal with little training. Using a positioning set and a large size 5 image board means that nothing can be left out and therefore you do not need to take photos again, resulting in less exposure of the patient to radiation and shorter anaesthesia times.
