Koeppe contact lenses used in gonioscopy are diagnostic tools used in the examination of the filtration angle of the eye.
They enable the diagnosis of primary glaucoma by directly visualizing the filtration angle, leaving the anterior chamber intact.
The lenses are made of a transparent lightweight material, have a special shape that allows light to be directed into the eye and the filtration angle to be observed.
A light source, head loupe or microscope is required to obtain the desired analysis and illumination.
